12 DAYS UGANDA SAFARI.

12 days Uganda safari enables visitors to visit Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth, Kibale forest, Bwindi National park and Lake Mburo National park in Uganda. You will enjoy activities like game drives, birding, gorilla and chimp trekking, boat cruise and hiking among others. Do not miss out visiting the Kazinga channel and the Kyambura Gorge of Queen Elizabeth national park as well as explore the Kasenda Crater Lake area in Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to kampala

Day 2: Drive to Murchison falls-Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival, Pickup and transfer to Kampala

Our experienced tour guide will pick you up from Entebbe Airport and drive you to your hotel. You will then be guided around the city of Kampala and visit the Market,  Uganda Martyrs Namugongo Shrine etc and ten drive back to your hotel.

Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls- Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

You will be required to do an early morning preparation and take breakfast. The guide will then pick you up at around 7:00am and drive towards the Northwest through Luwero and stop over at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino trekking. Have another stopover in Masindi for lunch and then continue to Murchison Falls, taking a short stop at the top of the falls for a perfect view of the wild roaring water that finds its way through a small 7 meter gorge and thunderous drop to more than 43 meters below. Dinner and overnight at the selected lodge.

Day 3: Boat cruise on the Nile.

After an early morning breakfast, you will have a game drive along the Northern banks of the River. The guide will help you identify several animals like hippos, crocodiles and birds. You will then return to the lodge for lunch as you prepare for the afternoon boat cruise. There will be an optional one hour hike at the top of the falls and then drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest.

Accommodation: Paraa Safari Lodge/Murchison River Lodge/ Red Chilli Rest Camp.

An early morning breakfast will start the day to Kibale forest national park driving through the Albertine Escarpment of the Western Rift Valley. Have lunch in Fort portal and then proceed to Kibale Forest where you will get dinner and overnight.

Accommodation: Chimpanzee Guest house/ Chimp Nest Lodge/ Primate lodge.

Drive hour: 5-6 hours.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking-Kibale.

Get your breakfast and get ready to hike in to the forest of kibale to trek the chimps. You will head to Kanyanchu by 8:00am from where you will be divided into groups of not more than 6 people. Each group is led by an experienced guide who will help you to easily spot the primates. Once with the chimps, one hour is given to visitors and later trek back to the lodge for lunch. Prepare to visit Bigodi wetland Sanctuary from where you will view other primates like the blue monkeys, bushbucks, baboons, mongoose, bush pigs and others. Bigodi wetland is also known for its various species of birds for bird lovers.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park- Boat cruise on the Kazinga channel

Have breakfast early in the morning and set off for Queen Elizabeth national park where you will be able to enjoy a walk along the Foot hills of Mountain Rwenzori. The walk will then lead to the 3 hour drive to the park.

On the arrival to the park, have lunch and be ready to engage in a game drive within the park as well as watching many wildlife species in the afternoon. Get a chance to visit the baboon cliff which is famous for its perfect view of the mountain of the moon. Dinner and overnight at Selected Lodge.

Drive hour: 3 hours.

Day 7: Game drive and afternoon boat cruise:

Early in the morning after breakfast, prepare for a morning game drive through the park and view animals like elephants, lions, elands, buffaloes among others. Later return to the lodge for lunch  freshen up in preparation for the afternoon boat cruise. This beautiful activity allows you to come across animals like crocodiles, hippos as well as other non water animals that compile at the water source to quench their thirst in the late afternoons.

Day 8: Visit Ishasha and then drive to Bwindi

After breakfast in the morning, you will taken to visit the tree climbing lions of Ishasha and many other species including birds, buffaloes, elephants, kobs, monkeys and many more. After this activity, embark to Bwindi forest a home to Mountain gorillas from where you will enjoy your lunch, dinner and over night.

Drive hour: 4-5 hours.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi.

Start your day with an early morning breakfast and then drive to the park Headquarters for briefing and grouping. The trek begins off at 8:00 am and lasts for one to 8 hours depending on the location of an particular gorilla group. One hour is permitted to be with the gentle apes and then trek back to the lodge for freshening up. Evenings can be used to a guided nature walk within the park or a community visit. This will be followed with moving back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: transfer to Lake Mburo national park.

Have breakfast in the morning at your lodge and set off for Lake Mburo which is the smallest savannah park in Uganda. On arrival, have lunch and relax in preparation for a guided nature walk through the park where animals such as buffaloes, Oribis, Uganda kobs, warthogs, zebras among others are seen. Go back at the lodge for overnight and dinner.

Drive hours: 5-6 hours.

Day 11:  Game drive and afternoon boat cruise.

After an early morning breakfast, set off for a game drive through the park and view the beautiful animal species of wildlife like the impalas, antelopes, kobs and various species of birds. Get back to the lodge for lunch and then go for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo where you will find crocodiles, hippos among others.

Accommodation: Mantana Tented camp/Rwonyo camp.

Day 12: drive back to Kampala.

After breakfast, have another game drive through the park and then embark on your journey back to Kampala. Have lunch en route with a stopover at the Equator to take memorable photos. You will arrive in kampala in the evening and drop at the airport if you have a flight on this very day.
